There is something about the sea that has always felt like home to me.
When I was young, I used to dream of living by the sea. I imagined waking up to the sound of the waves, watching the sun rise over the horizon, and ending the day with a quiet sunset as seagulls drifted through the sky. Back then, it was simply a dream. Now I understand that it was more than that—it was a longing for peace.
There is a different kind of feeling in watching the sunrise and sunset by the sea. The world seems to slow down. The waves keep moving, the seagulls keep flying, and yet everything feels still. There is peace in the quietness of it all.
And perhaps that is one of the most beautiful things we can do for ourselves as we grow older: remember the child we once were.
